Hearing Self Evaluation - Do you need Digital Hearing Aids?
As you age, your vision and hearing both give signs that things are changing. Whey your vision begins to slip, you notice that reading becomes difficult without glasses, or in certain situations you can’t see as well as you once did. Your hearing is similar, yet the signs happen gradually over several years.... so gradually that you may not notice them. Here is a self evaluation that is remarkably accurate. Answer each question "YES" or "NO."
- Do you hear sound O.K., but just have trouble understanding key words in a conversation?
- Would your spouse say that you ask others to repeat themselves?
- Would your spouse, kids or grandkids say that you turn the volume up too loud on the TV?
- Do you have more trouble hearing children or women’s voices?
- Do you have trouble hearing at church, at the movies, at restaurants, or in public gatherings?
- Do you hear a continual hissing or ringing in your ears? (A condition called tinnitus many times accompanies hearing loss.)
- Would your friends or coworkers say they have noticed that you have a hearing problem?
If you have even a thought that your hearing may be an issue, you should have a hearing check-up. It’s easy! Today’s electronic tests are accurate and usually take less than an hour to perform. Your ears are first checked for impacted wax, which many times can block incoming sound. At NewSound these services are performed at no charge and there is no pressure or obligation to buy hearing aids.
