Local Hearing Care Provider to Deliver Gift of Hearing to Impoverished Children

Dripping Springs, Texas, July 29, 2009 — Local hearing care provider Randy Schoenborn and a team of volunteers traveled to Tampico, Mexico and Reynosa, Mexico for a hearing mission recently. The team provided over 2,000 hearing aids to impoverished hearing impaired children and adults. "There is an overwhelming sense of privilege to be a part of this effort," said Schoenborn, owner of NewSound Hearing Aid Centers. "It is like having a front-row seat to witnessing lives changed. Children arrive unable to hear, and they leave hearing. The emotion is uncontainable."

The group consists of clinicians and patient care support staff from NewSound Hearing Aid Centers, the nation’s largest Audibel provider with over 40 locations in Central and South Texas. NewSound is passionate about improving lives through better hearing. To this end, it proudly sponsors hearing missions each year with the Starkey Hearing Foundation.

Owner of NewSound Honored for Philanthropic Efforts

Schoenborn was recently honored with the So the World May Hear Award for providing hearing aids to persons in need through his strong support of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Audibel, a leading hearing technology company, presented the awards at its national symposium held recently in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

"I am honored to receive this award," said Schoenborn. "I am proud to be part of this organization and look forward to many more years of improving lives through better hearing."
